Solidarity Partners

Mobile Moon Coop members choose a Solidarity Partner to support through the sales of our Moonboxes.

We used to select an SP every month, but at the end of 2021, we began raising funds for one SP per quarter. Check out these wonderful organizations doing great work in this world!

PANDOS - MMIW

We are mothers, sisters, fathers, brothers; imperfect humans advocating for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and relatives. We strive to disrupt colonial paradigms and structures of gender oppression by providing education, space for healing, community organizing and interconnection. We amplify the voices of the silenced by empowering indigenous women and suppressed communities. We share their stories to honor those who have been murdered and suffered injustice. We believe justice originates from engaged communities, coming together across the boundaries of indigenous and settler nations alike.

SLC AIR PROTECTORS

ZAZA VANDYKE

Zaza VanDyke is a poc, trans femme, parent, performer, song writer and artist from Ogden Utah. You can find zaza anywhere she can be loud and proud with an instrument in hand, either playing upright bass for The BackYard Revival or playing guitar and singing her own original music. She’s the girl at every campfire and party, singing and playing acoustic guitar. In fact, you’ll be hard pressed to find Zaza without a guitar close by. Zaza’s greatest inspirations are the people surrounding her in life, who’ve pushed her and supported her music, and her love of the world and atmosphere around her.

Being a single parent and an artist doesn’t leave much room for financial comfort and some of the big changes Zaza is making for her future is not attainable alone and she is fundraising to help cover the cost of HRT and whatever she may need during this transition.

Additionally, they have been exploring woodworking, reclaimed “trashy” art, and metallurgy. As a PWD (person with disability) they use their training in movement, classic, Indigenous, and modern dance experience to organize workshops to make movement and movement to music accessible to all. They are also a rather vocal advocate and activist directly supporting or organizing with such groups as Black Lives Matter, OgWai People’s Garden, Take Shelter Coalition, and Say No to the Polluting Port.

The Salt Lake Community Bail Fund posts bail for individuals in need in Salt Lake County. We work against the unjust money bail system that criminalizes poverty and disproportionately harms communities of color by helping to free our neighbors, educate the public, and work toward dismantling these harmful systems. We are committed to ending pre-trial detention in Utah, using the Community Bail Fund as a mechanism to expose the harm caused by money bail.

ASHLEY FINLEY

Ashley Finley is a California native who is currently living in so-called Salt Lake City. She is a lauded birth keeper, a published writer, a keynote speaker, certified yoga instructor, and an educator. She is inspired by the ancestral wisdom of her foremothers, the everlasting beauty of nature, and the vivid imagination of a liberated future for all colonized and marginalized people.

Ashley’s favorite work involves facilitating a sacred space where collaborators can explore what it means to use their unique purpose to begin the work of decolonization and liberation. She believes that all people have the potential to create a more compassionate, inclusive, and creative world where true equity exists for all people. In her work, she strives to empower people to start the “good” work by working to improve their little corner of the world.

UTE LAND TRUST

healing land injustice through relationships, education, and tribal conservation

The Ute Land Trust (ULT) was established in 2018 by the Business Committee of the Ute Indian Tribe to assist in the healing of the deep wounds left by the injustice of the violent removal of the Ute Indian Tribe from ancestral lands in Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. The hope is that ULT will reconnect the people of these lands by engaging with other tribes, federal, state, and local governments to partner in land stewardship and traditional conservation efforts.
